Tuesday 03/03 - The snow fall winner is Vail/Beaver Creek. -
They had 9 inches of snow yesterday and overnight. Breck/Keystone had 2-3
inches and Copper Mtn had 5 inches. It was another day of cleaning off the car
before we went to Copper Mtn to ski. Even thought we have been getting 2 inches
a day, the piles of snow in the parking lot are getting bigger. Copper Mtn had
very few people on the slopes. They are getting ready for the Spring Breakers
to arrive next week. Each resort keeps one or more trails closed til noon time
which allows many of the skiers to wait for the trail to be open and then ski
down on a groomed trail. Today it was Jacque's Pique and there were about 50-60 people
waiting for it to open. Copper Mtn grooms their trails once th slopes close.
Because most of the snow fell after the trails were groomed, there was plenty
of power to ski on. It covered my skies. Around 1:30pm, the snow started again
and we called it a day. As we were leaving, we passed one of the PAY parking
lots, we noticed a sign for VIP Subaru parking. If you are one of the first 8
Subaru cars, you can park for FREE. After lunch, we did a few chores around the
house and then went to Pug Ryans for cocktails. When we left Pug's it was
snowing pretty good. Maybe we will get the 9 inches.
