Monday 03/09 - It was a typical sun shinny morning. It was a
little cold at 10 degrees but without a wind it felt fine. We went to Copper
and as we got onto RT 70, we saw a sign saying the left lane to te resort would
be closed due to construction. And boy was it backed up. A trip that normally
takes 15 minutes, took 35 minutes. Once to Copper it was fine. The parking lot
was half empty and not many people on the slopes. We skied til 2 o'clock and
had lunch at JJ's outside. All the tables were taken with people enjoying the
warm sun. On the roof of JJ's, we saw several people trying to remove the more
than 5 feet of snow that has accumulated on the roof tops. It seems like
dangerous work. With the warm temps, the snow is melting fast. The next few
days, it will continue to be warm.
