Monday 02/09 - Another record warm day here and in Denver . The snow is
melting at an alarming rate. The streets and roadways are clear of snow. But
the slopes still have a good base. We went to Breckenridge and had a great day
of skiing. We had lunch at the old Lift 9 restaurant which was taken over by
Vail and renamed - The Overlook. The big thing was the prices. They now charge
$5.50 for a hot chocolate which used to be $3.00. This same increase can be
seen across every item in the restaurant. From the top of the restaurant you
can see the tops of the bare mountains. If this record warmth continue, we will
be skiing in our bathing suits. We also noticed that at the restaurant, Sprint
has installed a free charging station for all of our electronics. After skiing
we went to the Dam to compare notes on the different ski areas. For now, they
all seem to be OK.
