Friday 02/06 - The warm weather is back. This morning it was
29 degrees at 8am. This type of weather causes icy driveways and hanging
snow/ice off the roofs. We went to Copper Mtn to ski. The conditions in the
morning were good. The packs of snow boarders were out in force. So we took a
guided tour with the Rangers and they highlighted the history of the various
ski areas. They pointed out the many different types of trees and the hiding
areas for the animals. It took about an hour and then we continued our ski day.
It turned out to be a long day. One interesting thing was a wave cloud that
developed over the sun blocking some of the direct sunshine on the snow. It was a perfect blue sky except for this
cloud. We returned home around 3:30pm just in time to get the wash ready to be
done and go to the Arapahoe Cafe for dinner at 4:45pm. The highs for the day in
the mountains was 52 degrees and in Denver ,
a record was set of 73 degrees. These temps are higher than many of the towns
in Florida .
Saturday is suppose to be even warmer.
